The British Toilet Association has launched a search for the worst
public or 'away from home' loos in Britain - to feature in a television
documentary programme.
"With a record number of entries currently being judged for
the 2002 Cannon Hygiene Loo of the Year Awards - the best in Britain",
quotes BTA Director Richard Chisnell, "it is time to expose
the worst examples of 'away from home' toilet provision, and for
this we need the help of the public".
Anyone can nominate one or more 'Worst Toilets' in a whole range
of categories including municipal/public, transport, hospitals,
schools/colleges, leisure venues, pubs, restaurants and offices.
All we need is the location name and basic address details.
Criteria for nomination include lack of basic fixtures and fittings,
poor standards of cleanliness or maintenance and worn out décor.
Worst loos nominated could receive an unannounced visit from a
TV film crew and the possibility of some revealing publicity.
Nominations for the 'worst loos in Britain' are now being received
via e-mail at: worstloos@britloos.co.uk
