Late entries for the 2006 Loo of the Year Awards are still being accepted but will close on 15th September. If you wish to enter this year's competition please act now! Complete an entry form on-line.
The competition, now in its twentieth year, is promoted by The British Toilet Association and is run this year in association with headline sponsor Initial Washroom Solutions, the long established washroom product and service supplier. Additional sponsorship is provided by leading bathroom equipment manufacturer, Armitage Shanks, the cleaning industry ‘voice’, The British Cleaning Council and Technical Concepts, provider of the Neutralle brand of washroom products.
The Awards are also supported by the national tourism bodies in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
“We’ve already received over five hundred entries from all over the UK” says Awards Director, Richard Chisnell, “so we anticipate another record number of entries this year, as more businesses appreciate the customer pulling power of clean and well equipped toilets”.
Every entry receives a dedicated inspection visit and entries gaining three, four or five stars are presented with a Grading Certificate – to help them promote their Award winning facilities.
There are a range of National Awards for each home country as well as overall Winners’ Trophies for individual and public toilet entries, corporate provider entries and the best babychange and accessible facilities.
Running alongside the Loo of the Year Awards are the Attendant Awards – for the important people who maintain ‘away from home’ toilets – either as full time attendants, members of the in-house cleaning teams or external cleaning contractors.
Anyone can nominate any number of ‘away from home’ loos, via the Awards 24 hour hotline: 01962 850277 or via email: nominations@loo.co.uk. Nominations and entries can also be made online via the Awards website: www.loo.co.uk
Results will be announced and Awards Presentations held at the end of November.
Nominations for the 2007 Awards - our 20th Anniversary year - can be submitted anytime from October 2006.
