2005 World Toilet Summit Launched at Interclean
The 2005 World Toilet Summit will be held between Monday 26 th and Thursday 29 th September 2005 at the Waterfront Conference Centre in Belfast.
This will be the first Global Conference on 'away from home' toilet provision ever held in the West and is expected to attract delegates from around the world.
Hosted by The British Toilet Association, the Summit is being supported by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, Belfast City Council, the International Fund for Ireland and Belfast Visitor Convention Bureau, along with The World Toilet Organisation.
Previous Summits have been held in Singapore , Seoul and Taiwan . The World Toilet Organisation was established in 2001 in Singapore - the brainchild of WTO Director, Jack Sim, who also runs the Restroom Association of Singapore. The annual Conference and Exhibition devoted to raising standards of toilet provision always attracts great interest, particularly from the media.
"We're delighted to be hosting this first Toilet Summit in the West "quotes BTA Director Richard Chisnell, "and we are busy planning a memorable four days for delegates - both inside the Waterfront Conference Centre as well as a full social and partner programme. We will shortly be announcing the appointment of a Belfast based PCO (Professional Conference Organiser) to manage the Summit along with a range of pre and post Conference tours to some of Ireland 's major visitor locations.
A grand Civic Reception will be hosted by Belfast City Council in the magnificent Belfast City Hall and an Irish themed evening is planned in the City's famous St George's Market Hall.
A delegation from the organising team will be travelling to Beijing in November, to formally take over the summit baton from China , who are hosting the 2004 World Toilet Summit at the Beijing International Hotel, between 17 th and 19 th November.
